Does TetherTap store my contact information on a central storage system, on the cloud or on a third- party server?"

We built TetherTap for our customers and believe that privacy and security are paramount.
TetherTap only lives on your phone. The app uses peer-to-peer (P2P) computing, a distributed networking application architecture that does not use any central storage. The user has complete control over the app, data, and any features to update contact information. By design we have no access to any of your information or information about your contacts. Every function in the app is internal to your smart phone. TetherTap has no connectivity or access to any other devices or systems. TetherTap is not a social media application, does not share or sell any information and we do not sell ads.

Do I need to be tech savvy?

The interface and setup are simple. You will find TetherTap intuitive, convenient and very useful for keeping your contacts current. TetherTap synchronizes across iOS, Android and Microsoft smartphones which means your update recipients receive information in a format that works on any phone.

Question 3

Does TetherTap replace my mobile phone address book?

No. TetherTap is simply an add-on. Your address book does not change. The TetherTap app uses your address book Profile (your contact information) and sends changes to your contacts when you change or update your Profile on your phone.

After signing up, what should I do?"

TetherTap will walk you through the setup.  
TetherTap will ask you to update your Profile, your personal contact information, then request access to your address book contacts to send updates.  Please note, every function in the app is internal to your smartphone.

Where do my contacts see the information on the data that I have shared?

Your contact will receive a text/email with a link to your current contact information. Upon receipt they can click on the vCard to have their address book updated.  Recipients do not need to have TetherTap on their phones to get your information.  We will encourage recipients to download TetherTap so they can send you their current contact information.

Does the person you share information with need to join TetherTap?

No. The TetherTap app is like using a change of post office address form. Every time you change your phone Profile information such as a new mailing address, a new email address or a new business phone number, etc. your contacts will automatically receive an update. The first time and for every subsequent update, your contacts will receive an invitation to add the TetherTap app to their phone. You can be confident that your contacts will always have your current contact information and adding the TetherTap app will be easy for the people with whom you share your contact data.
 
We are fixing a universal problem and as more people use TetherTap, address books become better for everyone.

TetherTap is free to the user.  Our revenue comes from partner companies who add TetherTap to existing services.  Our partners are delivering a meaningful benefit to improve customer experience.
