To solve the problem of address book data decay by developing and marketing a simple, easy to use and secure mobile application.
What is data decay?
When a contact in an address book changes a phone number, email address, home address, business/job data, marital status, or any other information that a user considers desirable, that contact normally only updates contacts that are currently relevant. The result is that only a small percentage of that address book receives notification of the change. As time passes, more and more of the data in an address book becomes invalid. Eventually contact data can become unusable.
How does UpBook keep data safe and secure?
Contact information is completely distributed, living in the user’s device only. There is no central database to breach.
How can the UpBook app solve the problem of address book data decay?
The app keeps a user profile and prompts the user to keep the profile current. When profile information changes, the app informs predetermined address book contacts that the users information has changed. In the same way, when a contact with app installed changes a profile field, the user receives notification and the option to automatically adjust the address book record.
How is UpBook simple, easy and seamless?
Contact data is exchanged using NFC (Near Field Communications) or QR code imagery. No need to enter manually. Contact information changes are automatically posted to the user’s address book.
